Becoming a member at Friend of Sinners Church

Anyone who wants to worship YHWH (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is welcome to attend at Friend of Sinners Church.

Eventually it is good and right to become part of our fellowship as a member of the FoSC congregation. In doing so, we do two things: we affirm our faith before the elders of the church and the congregation, and we say vows before our Lord pledging our commitment to be members of one another, as Scripture commands. 

1. Profession of Faith before the Elders requires the presence of two elders to hear your testimony and what you believe. In this we want to understand not only that you know about our Lord, but that you know our Lord and have a relationship with him. If you want to know what that means, feel free to ask any member, or any Elder or Deacon. 
2. The Vows are said before the congregation in answer to the following five questions asked of you, and are as follows:​

• Do you acknowledge yourselves to be sinners in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope save in His sovereign mercy?
• Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?
• Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ?
• Do you promise to support the Church in its worship and work to the best of your ability?
• Do you submit yourselves to the government and discipline of the Church, and promise to study its purity and peace?

These vows are designed to ensure that we all understand what faith in YHWH means, as our only hope of salvation, including the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in us, our responsibility to use the gifts given by the Holy Spirit for the edification of the Church, and our submission to one another. 

This is our commitment as members of Christ's Body at Friend of Sinners Church.
